Compensation Lawyer And Illegal Road Accidents

Beware; we have modern-day “Dick Turpins’” at work on our roads, not quite “Stand and deliver” at gun point, but there’s a striking similarity.

There is a crime that is sweeping the country and innocent drivers are the victims. The drivers are ambushed into a situation they have no control over.

This is how it goes:

You may be following a vehicle, generally an ageing car or van, onto a roundabout or slip road. Suddenly, the car in front stops suddenly, but it had no working brake lights and so you run into the back of it.

There may be two cars involved. The car in front of you might brake sharply because the second car pulls into its path on purpose.

If you have been a victim of these criminals and they are brought to justice, you can use a compensation lawyer to claim back your losses and incurred expenses.

For the most part, these set-ups occur at busy roundabouts and slip roads. The instigators of these incidents are skilled at pinning the blame on the innocent motorist. These modern day highwaymen work in teams, owning and managing repair garages and car hire companies. These firms present falsely inflated invoices for work carried out, hire of a car whilst the car is off the road and so on. They will then go on to make a claim for compensation so that the innocent driver’s insurance premiums go up. Often these criminals will make the claim bigger by having passengers in their car who all claim to be injured too.   In this way a minor accident claim can escalate into a claim of £20,000 or more.

insurers predict that there are at least 10,000 of these false claims and accidents made each year, and have put their guard up against them. So, the Association of British Insurers has created the Insurance Fraud Bureau to deal with this. The Bureau and the police work in conjunction to discover the gangs behind these road crimes and prosecute them.

Each day motorists and passengers are at risk from the work of these gangs. This crime needs to be stopped by everyone working together to uncover the criminals.
